Blanche C. (Peloquin) Messier, 83, of 425 Pleasant St., died Saturday night in The Medical Center of Central Massachusetts - Hahnemann.

She leaves four sons, the Rev. Gerard E. Messier, with the Augustinians of the Assumption at Assumption College, and Francis L. Messier, both of Worcester, John R. Messier of Westboro, and Ronald F. Messier of Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Priscilla Blanchette of Worcester and Mary Ann B. Paquette of Paxton; a brother, Louis Peloquin of Worcester; a sister, Yvette Costello of Manchester, Conn.; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.  Her husband, Arthur U. Messier, died in 1949.  A son, Rene Messier of Sutton, died in 1975. Another son, Donald Messier of Worcester, died in 1948.  She was born in Easthampton, daughter of Louis and Celina (Millette) Peloquin, and lived here 49 years.

She was a self-employed seamstress for many years, retiring several years ago.  Mrs. Messier was a member of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church and its Holy Family Society.

The funeral will be held tomorrow from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave., with a concelebrated Mass at 10 a.m. in Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, 5 Salem Square. Her son, the Rev. Gerard E. Messier, will be principal celebrant. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.  Calling hours at the funeral home are 6 to 9 tonight.  The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial contributions may be made instead to the Renovation Fund of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church, 5 Whitman Road, Worcester, 01609.
