WORCESTER – Barbara Pearl (Pattison) Ohman, 96, of Worcester, died Monday, January 17, 2022 at home, with her son and her caregiver by her side.

She leaves her son, James R. Ohman of Worcester, her friend Barbara Hunt and her caregiver Patience, both of Worcester.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Roberta B. Ohman in 2015 and her sister Alice Stankus in 1998.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph and Helen (Shimkus) Pattison.   

Barbara attended the New England Conservatory of Music and was an aspiring singer.  She was a member and choir singer at Wesley United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed listening to music, such as Nelson Eddy and Jeanette MacDonald, and watching English comedies like “Are You Being Served”.   Barbara dedicated her life to the well-being of her parents, her sister, and her home and always found something tasty to cook for any meal.  In her spare time she enjoyed volunteering at money raising events for her church, such as White Elephants and bake sales and by singing in the choir. 

Not enough can be said about her love for all creatures, most of all the Elephant as could be seen by a lifetime collection of the great creature numbering in the hundreds, made from any material imaginable.  She donated generously to organizations involved in the preservation of endangered creatures.
