Arthur L. Bovaird, 69, of 89 Sterling St. died Saturday in St. Vincent Hospital.

Mr. Bovaird was a licensed practical nurse in the fracture room at St. Vincent Hospital for 27 years, retiring seven years ago.  He graduated from City Hospital School of Nursing.  Mr. Bovaird was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant with the 546th Field Artillery Battalion in Germany and Panama.  He was a member of Vernon Hill Post, American Legion; Quinsigamond Chapter, Disabled American Veterans; and Corinthian Lodge of Masons in New Brunswick.

He leaves his wife, Ruth B. (Moore) Bovaird; three sons, Neill L. and Wayde R. Bovaird, both of Auburn, and Craig A. Bovaird of Princeton; two brothers, Willard Bovaird of Oakdale and Earle Bovaird of Hampton, New Brunswick, Canada; two sisters, Kathleen Brown of Moncton, New Brunswick, and Marion Prask of Holden; and five grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Bovaird observed their 41st wedding anniversary in November.

He was born in Hampton, New Brunswick, son of Ernest and Alice (Earle) Bovaird, and lived here 40 years.  

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave. The Rev. James Sinclair will officiating. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.  Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.  The family requests that flowers be omitted. Memorial donations may be made instead to the American Cancer Society, 51 Union Place, or the Visiting Nurse Association, 120 Thomas St., both Worcester, 01608.
