WORCESTER – Anthony A. Bovenzi, 42, of Worcester, died Thursday July 10, 2025, at home, following an illness.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Bovenzi of Worcester, two sisters, Racheal Ellis of Worcester and Sarah Ellis of Worcester, his twin nieces Aria and Layla Takoulas of Worcester, and his maternal aunt Bernadette Bovenzi of Worcester. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Frank V. Bovenzi Jr and Nancy (Root) Bovenzi. He was born in Worcester and graduated from South High School.
Anthony worked at a gas station and later cared for his grandmother for several years. He also did many different types of volunteer work and was a fierce friend.
He enjoyed organizing Drag Shows. He was deeply passionate about the LGBTQ+ community and always advocated for its members. He supported, guided and counseled many individuals on their journeys of self-discovery. He was also deeply involved in supporting safe homes and other initiatives that created secure and welcoming spaces.
Funeral services will be private and in the care of Rice Funeral Home 300 Park Ave.
