WORCESTER – Alexander McKenzie Hammer IV, 42 of Worcester, died Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at home.
He leaves his father Alexander McKenzie Hammer III of Sutton, his mother, Linda Ann Hammer of Holden; a sister, Alicia Christine Staples of Rutland; a nephew, Jacob Staples of Worcester; and a niece, Alexandra Staples of Rutland.
Alexander (Mac) Hammer was born in Framingham and lived in Massachusetts all his life, most recently in Worcester.
Alexander loved music, writing, and drawing. The last 25 years, he suffered from a disability that affected significantly every aspect of his life. In spite of this, he had many achievements, large and small – often commenting that he looked for something to be thankful for each and every day. He was a blessing to his family, who appreciated his kindness, wry sense of humor, and, most of all, enjoyed his companionship for many years. Alex is, and will forever be, loved and greatly missed.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness by going to: https://namimass.org/donate/.
