Adrienne M. (Gauthier) Comtois

AUBURN – Adrienne M. (Gauthier) Comtois, 94, of Auburn, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Life Care Center of Auburn, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her adoring husband of 75 years, Wilfred Comtois; three children, Lucille Talbot of Worcester, Paul Comtois and partner Jacqueline Mileskie of Ludlow, and Jacqueline Livingstone and partner Robert Daigneault of Webster; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Lorraine Raymond, granddaughter Kimberly Brooks, grandson Matthew Raymond, sons-in-law Richard Talbot, Richard Raymond, and Paul Brooks Jr, her brothers Jean Guy and Armand Gauthier. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ulderic and Marie Rose (Cloutier) Gauthier. She lived in Worcester and East Longmeadow for many years before moving to Auburn.

Adrienne was a home economics instructor at the Worcester Girls Club for many years in which she was able to share her passion for cooking.  She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crocheting including making her daughters' bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses.  She later worked as a nurses' aid for the Visiting Nurses Association in Longmeadow.  She was a Girl Scout leader for many years and a member of Cercle Jeanne Mance.  She was a member of North American Martyrs Church in Auburn and was President of the Women's Guild at the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Worcester.

Adrienne was beloved by her family and friends, and she always put them first—so long as playing cards weren't involved.  She cherished spending time with family—whether hosting for holidays & birthdays, having sleepovers with the grandkids, chatting on the phone for hours on end, or traveling to Canada, Maine, Florida, and Cape Cod.  More recently, Adrienne enjoyed socializing with friends and staff in the Activity Center each and every day.  Adrienne never missed the chance to express her affection and appreciation for her family and friends.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 20 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St, Worcester, with a calling hour from 10:00-10:45 AM at the church. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.  Arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donation for supplies to the Life Care Center of Auburn's Activity Center (14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501).
