WORCESTER – Teresa Curbelo, 78, of Worcester, died Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at UMass Memorial – Lake Ave, after a short illness.
She leaves five grandchildren, Rafael Quinones, Theresa Buccico, with whom she lived for 13 years, Annemarie and Stephanie DeLarosa, and Desiree D. Marcano; and six great-grandchildren, Xavier, Elijah, Saliya, Julisa, Miabella and Gianna; two brothers, Luis Curbelo and his wife Marina of Springfield, MA and David Curbelo of New York. Teresa also leaves her nephew and niece Luis and Yvonne Curbelo of NY. She was predeceased by her daughter Estrella Roman in 2006, and her granddaughter Jazmine Marcano. She was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, daughter of Luis Curbelo and Emilia Garcia and has lived here about sixty-three years. Upon the death of her only child, her whole existence became her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She found the strength to continue on in life for them.
Teresa was a receptionist at UMass Memorial – Lake Ave for many years. She had a special place in her heart for the congregation of Jehovah Witnesses at Franklin St in Worcester. Calling hours will be Sunday December 4, 2016 from 10 a.m. to noon at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
