WORCESTER – Santiago “Chago” Acevedo Cardona, 78, of Worcester, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He leaves three sons, Salvador and Dennis Acevedo of Worcester and Gabriel Acevedo of Puerto Rico; four daughters, Milagros, Lady Diana and Angelica Acevedo, all of Worcester, and Analiz Acevedo of Puerto Rico; his mother, Maria Cardona of Puerto Rico, four brothers and two sisters in Puerto Rico, 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was born in Rincon, Puerto Rico, son of Felix Acevedo and Maria Cardona.
Santiago enjoyed fishing, riding his bicycle, and getting coconuts. He also enjoyed being with his friends and listening to music.
A funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 8, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, January 8 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
