Robert Thayer Obituary

WORCESTER – Robert L.”Bobby” Thayer, 64, of Worcester, died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Auburn.

He was predeceased by his significant other, Sharon A. Brownson, six days earlier.  He leaves two sons, Robert L. Thayer of Worcester and George S. Thayer and his fiancée Jennifer Cote of Lowell; a daughter, Annemarie Doucimo and her husband Patrick of Holden; five siblings, Mark E. Thayer and his wife Deborah of Leicester, Pamela J. and her husband Richard Welcome of Auburn, Stephan R. Thayer of Auburn, Jonathan W. Thayer and his wife Ella of Auburn, and Brenda Thayer and her fiancé Anthony Rivera of Worcester; many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.  Robert was predeceased by his first wife, Mildred McCormick, his daughter Crystal Benoit, and two brothers, James Daigneault and Scott Thayer. He was born in Worcester, son of Robert H. Thayer and Audrey P. (Daigneault) Thayer.

Robert lived life in the fast lane.  He loved family, loved spending time with his grandkids, and loved his cats.  He always did whatever he wanted to do at the time – a free spirit.  He enjoyed singing at family cookouts.

Robert’s family would like to offer a special Thank You to the Life Care Center of Auburn and the St. Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center in Worcester for the care they gave him during his illness.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 20 at 11:00 am at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, section Garden of Serenity.   Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave is in care of arrangements.
