Richard P. Shapiro

ASHLAND – Richard P. Shapiro, 73, of Ashland, died Monday, September 19, 2016 at MetroWest Medical Center, Framingham surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Denise S. (Severi) Shapiro; three daughters, Terri Conlon and her husband Michael of New York City, Stephanie Hayes and her husband Kevin of Westborough, and Jenna Shapiro and her fiancé James Spooner of Attleboro; six grandchildren, Sean, Jack, Ryan and Finley Conlon of NY, Sean and Emma Hayes of Westborough; a brother-in-law, Alfred Severi and his wife Judith, their son Eric Severi and a niece and 4 nephews.  He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Kessel.  Richard was born in Salem, MA, son of Max and Lena B. (Lourie) Shapiro and has lived in Ashland for 30 years.  He graduated from Salem State University.

Richard was a transportation specialist for Busy Bee Transportation in Ashland.  He enjoyed driving the elderly and disabled he met working as a driver for Busy Bee.  He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
