Maritza Otero Melendez

WORCESTER – Maritza Otero Melendez, 57, of Worcester, died Sunday, March 31, 2019 at UMass Memorial – Lake Ave surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her husband, Carlos Melendez Santiago, three daughters, Nellie M. Melendez of Worcester, Amy M. Melendez and her husband Tyree of Worcester, and Somalri and her husband Francisco Rivera of Worcester; two brothers and four sisters in Puerto Rico; nine grandchildren, Jiovanni, Jaidel, Jaidyn, Avani, Giana, Arianna, Prince, Leysha, and Ulysses.  She leaves many other loving family and friends in Puerto Rico, and her dogs Chewy and Dude.

Maritza was a vascular technician at UMass Memorial – Lake Ave.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave.  Burial will be Thursday, April 4 at 11:00 am the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St, Winchendon.
