SHREWSBURY – Jane M. (Cote) Simoncini, 89, of Shrewsbury, died Monday, June 24, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves her husband of 69 years, Robert P. Simoncini; a daughter, Nancy Starbird and her husband Peter of Rochdale; two sons, Alan R. Simoncini and his wife Suzanne Rice Simoncini of Worcester, and Mark Simoncini and his wife Brenda of Bellingham; a brother, Louis Cote and his wife Jeanne of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Paige Dauderis and her husband Keith of Gardner, Abby Pomerleau and her husband Edward of Eliot, Maine, Daniel Simoncini of Northhampton, Elena Buckley and her husband Ryan of Middleborough, Laura Simoncini of Boston, Brianna Norton and her husband Patrick of Blackstone, and Talia Simoncini of Bellingham; three great-grandsons, Caden, PJ and Cole; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Alice Beaudry and her husband Rudy. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Louis A. and Florence (Goodwin) Cote.
Jane worked many years ago as a classroom assistant at St. Peter’s Elementary School. Her family was her whole world. Her husband of 69 years was her best friend. She enjoyed her time at casinos and had a very big heart. For many years she ran the kitchen at St. Andrew’s Bingo in Worcester. She became an Italian by marriage and her cooking reflected it.
Her gravy was legendary amongst other recipes. She was a caretaker for many family members. She loved shopping and she dressed to the nines. Jane had many priceless sayings that she shared with her close friends and family.
Jane’s family would like to especially thank her goddaughter and recent caretaker Denise Blanchard and the staff of Compassus Hospice.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 29 at 10:00 am in St. Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike. Please go directly to church. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Calling hours are Friday, June 28 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
