WORCESTER – Alvin L. Firmin, 80, of Worcester, died Saturday, August 18, 2018 at UMass Memorial – University Campus, surrounded by his family.
He leaves his wife, Denise (Beliveau) Firmin, his children, Daniel Firmin and his wife Celeste of Worcester, Kevin Firmin and his wife Debra of Sutton, Bruce Firmin of Millbury, Lynn Early and her husband James of North Brookfield, Scott Firmin and his wife Dawn of Worcester, Robert Case and his wife Megan of Holden, Stephanie Albino and her husband Rafael of Worcester, Jefferson Case and his wife Alyssa of Paxton; a brother David Firmin of Worcester; a sister, Joyce and her husband Randy Stites of Aurora, Colorado, sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Cathy Firmin. He was born in Worcester, son of Stanley K. and Marguerite (Burr) Firmin. He was raised in Shrewsbury and graduated from Shrewsbury High School.
Alvin was a bus driver for the WRTA for 33 years. He also worked at the Telegram & Gazette, Nissen bakery, and the Lutheran Home in Worcester. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. His lawn was his passion. He was an avid New England sports fan. He loved his dog Maddie and enjoyed walking.
Family and friends are invited to a graveside service to be held Monday, August 27 at 11:00 AM in Hope Cemetery, Worcester, section 102. There are no calling hours.
