WORCESTER – Maria Cruz Rodriguez, 75, of Worcester, passed Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 at home after battling a long illness of Alzheimer's and related dementia.

She leaves her children, Sonia Torres, Zoraida Torres, and Milca Torres and her husband Franklyn Arroyo; her 12 grandchildren, Karla Garcia, Carlos Martinez-Torres, Joshua Arroyo, Jose Marquez Jr, Tyler Gain, Tyrone Gain, Jonathan Arroyo, Natalee Arroyo, Lyannis Torres, Isaiah Marquez, Gabriel Arroyo, and Zerimar Ramirez; her 8 great-grandchildren, Josue Pacheco Jr, Carlianys Martinez, Pamela Cruz, Derick K. Pacheco, Jayden Marquez, Amaia Acevedo, Kai-zaiah Garcia, and Noah Rosario; three brothers, Jose Cruz, Raul Cruz, and Justo Cruz; a sister, Carmen M. Cruz; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Derick Torres, two brothers, Victor and Angel Cruz, and a sister Laura Cruz. Maria was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, daughter of Aniceto Cruz and Victoria Rodriguez. She has been in Worcester since 1990.

Maria enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking, and being with her family.

The funeral service and burial will be held in Puerto Rico at a date to be determined. Local arrangements are in the care of Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester.
