Sandra M. (Segerlind) Gabrielian

March 27, 1944 ~ May 6, 2016 (age 72) 72 Years Old

WORCESTER - Sandra M (Segerlind) Gabrielian, 72 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday May 6th, surrounded by her children, after a short illness.  Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Aldoria (Langevin) Segerlind.  Sandra had an undergraduate degree from Framingham State College, and a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Worcester State College.

Sandra started her career working in the Millbury Public School System, until she started her family. Sandra worked at Memorial Hospital in their Foundation, and was a successful Realtor with Kelleher and Sadowsky before returning to her first love, teaching.  She finished her career working in the Worcester Public School Systems at the Jacob Hyatt Magnet School.  An avid volunteer, Sandra worked with a number of non-profit organizations throughout her life; including Worcester Historical Society, RSVP, and the Junior League of Worcester as a past president and member of its board.   An avid traveller, Sandra spent much of her retirement on trips with friends and family.

She leaves behind her three children, Amy Gabrielian O’Shea and her husband Sean O’Shea of Haddonfield, New Jersey, Stephen Gabrielian and his wife Amy (Harriage) Gabrielian of Canton, Connecticut, Melissa Gabrielian of London, England; her five grandchildren, Emily and Theodore Gabrielian of Canton, Connecticut and Jack, Zoe and Quinn O’Shea of Haddonfield, New Jersey.   As well as her sister Carol Goyette and her husband Normand and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, with a 10:00 am Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St, Worcester.  Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.  Calling hours are Tuesday, May 10 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sandra's memory to the Organization for Autism Research, 2000 North 14th Street, Suite 240, Arlington, VA 22201.
