Olga (Vangel) Thanas`

WORCESTER – Olga Thanas, 93, of Worcester, died Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Holy Trinity Nursing Home, Barber Ave, Worcester.

She leaves a daughter, Patricia Thanas of Worcester; three sons, Arthur P. Thanas of Nevada, Anthony Thanas and his wife Valerie of Mashpee, and Philip Thanas and his wife Kesarin Phayakchon of Portsmouth, NH; a brother, Peter Vangel and his wife Lilian and their children Steven, Beth and John; three grandchildren, Cheyenne and her husband Nathan Valenzuela, Samuel Philip Thanas, and Kesarin Ploy Thanas; and a niece Dottie Vasel and her family.  She is predeceased by a sister Cynthia and her husband Mike Vangel.   She was born in Woonsocket, RI, daughter of Peter and Alexandre (Bida) Vangel.

Olga was a very loving and devoted wife and mother. She was very active in the mothers club, and volunteering her time for church activities. She always had a table of food for anybody who came to her home. A wonderful hostess and friend , she will truly be remembered.

The funeral will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 11am at St Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury St.  Burial will follow at All Faiths Cemetery, Worcester.  There are no calling hours.  Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave is in care of arrangements.
