Mark S. Schmidt

WORCESTER – Mark S. Schmidt, 59, of Worcester, died Monday, July 18, 2016 at Rose Monahan Hospice, with his wife Margaret by his side, after a battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 20 years, Margaret E. (Wagner) Schmidt, a son, Gregory P. Schmidt and Jamie Mahoney of Pembroke, a brother, Wayne Schmidt of South Carolina, and a granddaughter, Ariya.   He was predeceased by his son Jeffrey S. Schmidt in 2006.  He was born in Quincy, son of the late William B. and Mildred (Partridge) Schmidt.  He also lived in Florida for many years.

Mark was a printer for Graphics Development Company in Hanover, MA.  He also worked for the Palatka Daily News in Palatka, Florida.   He was an avid Boston sports fan, especially the Bruins.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.  There are no calling hours.  Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, Worcester is in care of arrangements.
