Margaret M. (Thornber) Crompton

WORCESTER – Margaret M. (Thornber) Crompton, 77, of Worcester, died Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center, Worcester.

Her husband of 39 years, George E. Crompton, died in 2002.  She leaves four children, Denise McMahon and her husband Timothy of Holden, Mark Crompton and Janet Grenier-Bilzerian of Worcester, Yvette McCarthy and her husband Steven of Oxford, and Andrew Crompton of Worcester; a brother, William Thornber and his wife Ann of Liverpool, England; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Patrick McMahon, Meghan and Michael McCarthy; many nieces and nephews.  She was born in Liverpool, England, daughter of William A. and Ivy F. (Robinson) Thornber.  She lived in Sturbridge for many years after moving to the U.S. in 1966.

Margaret was owner/ manager of the Econolodge Hotel in Sturbridge.  She enjoyed reading, knitting, baking, travelling to the U.K. and spending time with her grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Beaumont Worcester’s second floor staff for their care and compassion for their Mom.
