WORCESTER — Luz V. Aviles, a long-time resident of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday the 9th of May, 2018 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Luz was born on January 24, 1951 in Moca, Puerto Rico to Inocencia Lopez and Bonifacio Perez, both deceased. Luz is survived by her loving husband, Eduardo Perez Aviles, her two children; Eduardo “Junior” Aviles and Mary Luz Aviles and her husband, Robert Garcia; five grandchildren, Brenda, Luz Nereida, Jarelis, Samantha and Eduardo Jancel; one great-granddaughter, Gabriella; six siblings, Ana, Luz Maria, Gladys, Irma, Natividad and Alberto. Luz is predeceased by her youngest sister, Maria Elena. She leaves behind generations of nieces and nephews and many extended family members.
Luz’s interest included listening to music, playing dominos and bingo, and cooking, activities she always shared with her family. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her great joy.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, with a Mass at 10:00 am at the Cathedral of St. Paul, 38 High St, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster St, Worcester. Calling hours are Monday, May 14 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
