Chardell (Beaulac) King

May 24, 1950 ~ January 21, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old

WORCESTER – Chardell (Beaulac) King, 66, of Worcester, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at home.

She leaves five sons, James McCorquodale of Oak Bluffs, Daniel McCorquodale and his wife Kristen of Dorchester, Aaron McCorquodale of Athol, Corey McCorquodale of Phillipston, and Ian McCorquodale of Phillipston; three sisters, Dereth Beaulac of Gardner, Kay Rousseau of Florida, and Candice and her husband Roger Berube of Florida; five grandchildren, Emma, Paige, Jeffrey, Brielle and Ava.  She was born in Leominster, daughter of Francis J. and Gloria (Downs) Beaulac.

Chardell always struggled with mental illness.  We will all try to remember the best about her. As a young woman she was a pilot and free spirit who flew too high and came in too hot.  Chardell drove too fast and sometimes too far. She was always drawn to the ocean, sand and sun.   I think she found a little bit of God by the sea.   It was then, she would be happiest, and when she was happy her smile was infectious as her skin was tan.   Chardell wanted desperately to be a mother and for many years tried like hell.  Though her struggles affected others and left scars on many of those closest to her she always kept her door open to a friend, a sister a son and shared what little she had.  More recently she found solace in the church.  I personally watched many episodes of "The Holy Rosary" on the Catholic Network. I think it was the same exact show every time.  Didn't matter.  Bead by bead until she was done.

We will all miss you in many different ways, as we have always loved you in many different ways.  Our lives are brighter for having known you.  And for the folks up in heaven, keep the lights on the airstrip and look both ways before you cross that celestial street... Chardell's coming.  Love you Mom.

A celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.  There are no calling hours.  Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, is in care of arrangements.  Donations in her name may be made to Community Health Link, Inc., 72 Jaques Avenue, Worcester, MA 01610-2480.
