WORCESTER – Alice M. (Stewart) Miller, 89, of Worcester, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Rose Monahan Hospice.

Her husband of 66 years, John P. Miller, died in 2012.  She leaves four children, Jean E. Lampson and her husband Paul of Rutland, John P. Miller and his wife Deborah of Andover, NJ, Robert P. Miller and his wife Marie of Auburn, and David F. Miller and his wife Sheila of Boylston; a brother, Richard Stewart of Worcester; 13 grandchildren, Paul, Jr. and Tracie Lampson, Andrew and Kristin Lampson, Joseph and Neide Lampson, Tracy Dineen and Tim, Kelly Comeau, Erin Parker, Joel and Emily Miller, Shelby and Dan Pickett, Christine and Dennis Garth, Stephen Miller, Daniel Miller, Adam and Kimberly DeMaria; 26 great grandchildren, Jake, Madison, Connor and Ethan Lampson, Rachel and Nicholas Lampson, Maxwell, Kiara and Sam Lampson, Grace and Seamus Dineen, Kelsey, Owen and Eli Comeau, Sophia, Jude, and Ian Parker, Abigail, Delaney, and Daniel Pickett, Connor, Ian, Logan and Maureen Garth, Gianna and Drew DeMaria; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Andrew, John, Robert and Donald Stewart, two sisters, Dorothy Chisholm and Irene Stewart, and her grandson Bryan Lampson in 1993. She was born in Holden, daughter of A.P. Lorne and Katherine (Drohan) Stewart.  She has lived in Worcester for many years and previously lived in Leicester.

Alice was an accounting clerk at Tom McCann in Worcester for many years.  She was educated in Worcester schools.  She and her husband John were foster parents through Catholic Charities to many children throughout the years.  She was also a Den Mother and enjoyed camping and traveling in their motor home. 

The funeral will be held Friday, February 19, 2016 from Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave, with an 11:30 am Mass at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St, Worcester.  Burial will take place in the spring in Rural Cemetery, Rutland. Calling hours are Friday, February 19 from 8:45 – 10:45 am at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities Worcester County, 10 Hammond St, Worcester, MA 01610.
