WORCESTER -- Edward J. Laliberte, 93, formerly of Ingleside Ave. and North Grafton, died Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Dodge Park Rest Home, 101 Randolph Road.
His wife, Aline R. (Monfils) Laliberte, died in 2001. He leaves a son, Francis E. Laliberte and his wife June of North Grafton, with whom he lived; four grandchildren, Francis of Grafton, Justin and his wife Tasheena of Worcester, Joseph of Florida, and Mary of North Grafton, great-grandchildren Dominic and Hailey; a sister-in-law, Zena Laliberte of Webster; many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Raymond and Hermes and two sisters, Sister Rose and Jean predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Ludger and Blanche R.A. (Touchette) Laliberte, and lived here most of his life.
Ed was a carpenter at City Hospital and E.J. Cross for many years. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the 562nd Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion. He was a long-time member of Notre Dame Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister. He always helped friends out with odd jobs.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church 17 Waterville St. N. Grafton, MA. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 23 at Rice Funeral Home 300 Park Ave. Worcester, MA.
